Hamas’ $2 Million Celebration

Last week, Hamas reportedly spent $2 million on anniversary celebrations to mark 22 years since the terrorist organization’s founding. Meanwhile, the majority of Gaza Strip’s 1.5 million residents live off UN aid.

As Robert Ivker notes, humanitarian aid delivered to Gaza rarely meets its intended recipients.  Rather, Hamas spends the funds buying Qassam rockets, building tunnels, supporting terrorists’ family members, and with other jihadist activities. According to Ivker, “The more the international community tries to help, the stronger Hamas gets.”

At Hamas’ celebratory rally, Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh declared that Hamas would continue using its finances toward terrorist activities. Haniyeh further announced that gaining control of the Gaza Strip was “just a step toward liberating all of Palestine.”
