Yesterday, Lebanese Armed Forces and UNIFIL troops discovered and dismantled four Katyusha rockets at a construction site in Houla, southern Lebanon. Three rockets were aimed at Israel, ready for launch.
On Tuesday evening, a Katyusha rocket fired from that same construction site hit northern Israel. According to the IDF, Islamic Jihad, the Iranian-sponsored Palestinian terrorist group, was responsible.
Scholar Meir Litvak notes that Palestinian Islamic Jihad has been operating from Lebanon since the late 1980s. With the help of Hizbullah and Iran, the group’s influence now expands throughout the country’s Palestinian refugee camps, posing a threat to Israel as well as Lebanon.
