On behalf of the Officers and the Board of the Jewish Policy Center, we announce with deep sorrow the passing of Midge Decter of the JPC Board of Fellows. We sought her guidance and appreciated her wealth of political and social understanding. She shared with us, and we learned from her.
An ardent believer in freedom and liberty, Midge was a passionate opponent of the Soviet Union both for its depredations against its own people and for the threat it posed to the State of Israel. Her love of Israel was the motivating force in her movement away from American left-wing politics that were increasingly hostile to the Jewish State.
We offer our deepest condolences to her husband, Norman, and her son John, both also members of the JPC Board of Fellows, and to her daughters Ruth and Naomi, and to her son-in-law Elliott Abrams.
